Play For Peace

For our mitzvah project, we will be hosting a day of fun to support the Sderot Indoor Playground in Israel.  Our event is called Play For Peace.

Sderot is only a few miles away from the Gaza Strip, where many bombs and missiles targeting Israel are launched.  Despite the beautiful weather there, children cannot play outside because bomb sirens go off too often.  When a siren is heard, there is only 15 seconds to get into a bomb shelter.  The Sderot Indoor Playground is a facility where kids and families can play during the day.  This building doubles as a bomb shelter, so when a bomb siren goes off while they are in the building, they can continue playing safely.

We had a chance to go to Sderot Indoor Playground on our trip to Israel in December.  We were inspired by how much Israel cared for children and families and keeping the Israeli people safe.

On Sunday, April 26 from 4-6 PM at West Rock (address below), we will be hosting an event with bouncy houses, a big slide, and sports equipment to raise money for the indoor playground.  Entree fees are $10 per person

On this site, you can donate to the Sderot Indoor Playground.  Thank you and hope to see you all there!!

With love,
