Jewish National Fund

Gabriela's Mitzvah Project

I am so excited to be working with my family and friends to raise money for the Jewish National Fund for my Mitzvah Project and help the people of Israel during this difficult time.

As rockets continue to fall on Israel from Gaza, the Jewish National Fund has launched an emergency campaign to assist Israel’s citizens all over the country. I am passionate about helping people in Israel stay safe, and for my mitzvah project I have decided to raise money to buy a bomb shelter for people in Israel who live in Halutza. Halutza is located in the northwest Negev on Israel’s borders with Egypt and Gaza, Halutza was founded in 2005 by a small group of families evacuated from the Gush Katif communities of Atzmona and Netzarim during Israel’s disengagement from Gaza. The people who live here have only FIVE seconds to get to a bomb shelter. ONLY FIVE!!!  Families put their children to sleep in bomb shelters because they have so little time to go to one. My goal is $30,000 the cost of one bomb shelter.

Jewish National Fund began as a dream in 1901 to reestablish a homeland in Israel for Jewish people everywhere. In the years since, JNF has made the dream a reality by greening the desert with millions of trees, building thousands of parks, creating new communities and cities for generations of Israelis to come home, bolstering Israel's water supply, helping develop innovative agriculture techniques, and educating both young and old about the founding and importance of Israel and Zionism.

I'm raising funds to help ensure that the important work of JNF continues - and I hope I can count on your support. You can help simply by joining my team or supporting my fundraising efforts with a donation!

I thank you for generous support! -Gabriela
